Le Grand Hôtel Dinard

We stayed in one of their suites and had a wonderful long weekend in a beautiful big room overlooking the water and st. Malo. When we first arrived we met the manager who was very nice and wished us a pleasant stay. Every area of staff was well trained, kind, and helpful. The rooms seemed newly renovated and in excellent condition. The bed was incredibly comfortable and so we slept very well. We were especially pleased with the effective climate control in the room which was not controlled centrally so we were able to customize our comfort. Breakfast had a lovely view and was very good. There it an omelet bar. Room service was quick and fresh. The daily housekeeping was done while we were at breakfast which was very convenient. I appreciated that turn down service came up to us every evening even though we never wanted anything but the gavottes! Thank you! Tips: reserve parking in advance if you're bringing a car.

A Hotel with very bad customer service, when I arrived at dawn the reception staff did not have the experience to leave a deposit on a card, then they asked me for 500 euros in cash and agreed to return them the next day, this never happened because the next day They refused to do it, incredible, a homemade hotel without quality standards in service, I would not return.

We had two radically different experiences with this hotel. The first time we stayed, in 2019, we had a very pleasant experience. It is an attractive hotel, freshly refurbished, with a very friendly staff, a nice swimming pool, and a great kids club. I would probably have rated at four out of five at that point. However, our recent experience has been nothing short of Kafkaesque. Without getting into all of the details, we made a small error in our online booking which was actually impossible for our family to utilise oaks booked. In trying to make changes in the following 48 hours, that would result us in spending more money with the hotel rather than less, we encountered bureaucratic intransigence that tan to a dozen emails, each of them refusing to speak to us or engage with us to try to find a result that would work for our family. It was astonishing. We will never, ever stay at a hotel in this chain again as a result. I would say that over more than 200 hotels we have stayed out, this was our worst customer service experience. It’s too bad, as the policies, the bureaucracy, the lack of customer service, and the outright in friendliness of the booking teams, is not at all what we experienced at the property itself.
